Diahann Carroll shines as Claudine, a single mother of six living in Harlem who works as a maid to make ends meet. When she meets charming garbage collector Rupert (James Earl Jones), the two embark on a tender and complicated romance. As their relationship deepens, they must navigate the challenges of love, family, and a welfare system designed to keep them apart. Equal parts humor and heart, Claudine is a poignant and powerful story about resilience, dignity, and the strength of love in the face of adversity.
