"The word Leoness, meaning ""village of dreams,"" is the inspiration behind our lifelong quest to create world class wines from the finest vineyards in the Temecula Valley. Nestled in the rolling hills and vineyards of Temecula's wine country, Leoness Cellars offers a warm, enchanting setting where visitors can enjoy great wines, spectacular views, and wonderful times with family and friends.
Leoness Cellars was founded in 2003 by Mike Rennie and Gary Winder, who together have over fifty years of agriculture and grape-growing experience in the Temecula Valley. Their combined experience has lead to a true understanding of growing wine grapes of the highest quality, grapes which are concentrated, balanced, and ripe, ultimately producing wines of incredible depth and flavor.
Among the wines produced at Leoness Cellars are Viognier, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, White Merlot, Muscat Canelli, and Cinsault Port, as well as small lots of other specially selected varietals. Each of our wines is carefully crafted to preserve the subtle flavors and nuances of the varietal. Our red wines, along with our Chardonnay, are aged for an extended period of time in a combination of small French and American oak barrels, adding softness and complexity to the wines, while our white wines are fermented slowly at cool temperatures, helping the wines to retain the fresh fruit flavors of the grape."
Love the wine the ambiance and the food if GREAT. Service in the members lounge is something that is lacking. It takes a long time to get service. Today we were seated and 20 minutes later someone finally came over too our order. When the tasting cane back she never went over them just said here you go. The food was served with no place settings,that took another 5-10 minutes. We were only checked on once and that was too see if we wanted the check.
UPD: Unfortunately, Leoness is not capable of handling you financial information correctly. Please be careful when leaving you credit card information with them. I had to cancel my membership because I got other people's bills on my account. See my original review below. A great winery. My wife and I visited it recently and we enjoyed their selection of red wines. The restaurant is AMAZING! I think the best restaurants in Southern California I've been to. We went for lunch two days in a row and every dish we tried was great. My personal favorite is the lamb tortellini, but no matter what you choose, you'll definitely enjoy it!
Our waiter was excellent. Although, i had made a reservation, they didn't have me on their list and was very disappointed especially when I called twice confirming. Other than that dinner was great.
Cesar, our waiter, was awesome. I think this place is horribly mismanaged. We had reservations for 8 p.m.on Valentine's Day and still had to wait 45 minutes to get seated. Then we were told they were out of some of the food options because they weren't expecting such a big crowd even though it's reservation only. For it being such a romantic night the place was very very noisy and there were a lots and lots of empty seats outside but sitting out there wasn't an option. At this point I would definitely not recommend eating here. On a side note we've been to Valentine's Day dinners at other wineries in past where they've had one set price for a couple. The advertising for the prices could have been a little more clear that these menu items were priced for individuals making a dinner for two without wine in the $300 range...
I paid 22.00 for the lobster canneloni and my entire team was shocked to find that they brought a total of 4 small noodles. The joke was, "are you getting the child's plate"! So irritated!
