Waikiki Trolley covers most major attractions and major shopping malls on the island of Oahu. If you’ve visited Waikiki before, you’ve likely seen our classic trolleys shuttling visitors about Honolulu. Hop aboard to discover the fun places of our island paradise!

On April 18, 1986, Waikiki Trolley started with just two trolley cars. These were the first trolleys to hit Oahu streets since the electric trolleys of the early 1900′s.

Waikiki Trolley now operates a fleet of over 50 trolleys. Waikiki Trolleys are classic street reproductions of San Francisco cable cars with authentic brass and wood trimmings. The first stop locations included Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center , Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium and Ala Moana Center. At that time, the ticket for this tour was only five dollars!

Two years later, in 1988, Waikiki Trolley expanded its routing to downtown Honolulu and started “Old Town Honolulu Tour”, which is the original routing for the current “Honolulu City Tour (Red Line)”. You can visit many historical sites on this tour, including King Kamehameha Statue and `Iolani Palace. Our Trolley drivers can also tell you little secrets that are even unknown to many residents.

The current Waikiki Trolley route covers as far west as Chinatown, and as far east as Kahala Mall, making it one of the most elaborate routes for Honolulu and its surrounding areas. Over the past 24 years, Waikiki Trolleys have carried over 8 million passengers, and have more than enough mileage to drive over 8 times around the Earth.

All tourists to Hawaii have loved the Waikiki Trolley as a means of convenient and educational transportation.
